How to Apply Soft Claws for Cats

For Kittens:

Do not trim kittens' claws before applying Soft Claws. Enough claw surface is needed for the glue to properly adhere.

Step 1:

Trim the tip of your cat's nails but not too much. Trim just enough to allow the nail cap to fit all the way to the base of the nail.

Step 2:

Fill nail caps 1/3 full with Soft Claws adhesive. To distribute the adhesive and release any air bubbles, gently squeeze the nail cap. If adhesive comes out of the nail cap, you have inserted too much. To remove some adhesive, squeeze it onto a paper towel.

STEP 3:

Extend your cat’s nails by gently pressing your thumb on top of the nail with your index finger on bottom of their paw. Then slide nail caps onto the nail.

Watch your cat for five minutes before releasing. You can play with or feed your cat to distract them for a few minutes. Cats will shed the nail caps off as their nails normally shed.

Pro Tip:

If you are struggling with application, veterinarians and groomers know and love Soft Claws and can help with application!
